:::about the club:faq [frequently asked questions]

Q. Is this Fan Club Official?
A. No, we aren't official. To date, Christopher does not have an Official
Fan Club. We are the only known worldwide Fan Club and have been in contact
with Mr. Walken and his agent, even though we have maintained our
"unofficial" status.

Q. Who runs the Fan Club?
A. We have three coordinators who jointly make all decisions for the Fan Club. Kathleen Hagiwara who lives in Canada. Carolyn Hinton who lives in England and Candy Rosenbaum, lives in the USA. All three are Christopher Walken fans who began the club in 1999, after it was originally started online by Daks Furman.

Q. Does Christopher Walken know about the Fan Club?
A. Yes he does, as does his agent. In August of 2001, after Mr. Walken appeared in "The Seagull" in New York, the Fan Club held a Reception for Mr. Walken, which he graciously attended. Since then, he has made contact with his fan club occasionally and also attended our Pre Oscar party in 2003.

Q. Does the Fan Club make a profit?
A. The fan club does not make a profit at this time. What little money we receive goes back into the Fan Club account and gets used for expenses.

Q. How many members are there?
A. The Fan Club started at around 50 members and at one point was up to over 2,000. We lost members when switching mailing services, but the number is certain to climb again. Mr. Walken has fans from all over the world and many have been members of this Fan Club.

Q. How can I volunteer for the fan club?
A. We love volunteers! Our members have talents and abilities for all sorts of projects. We can certainly use anyone from writers to event planners to computer programmers. We keep an ongoing list of people who want to help and we contact them if we can use them for a particular task. Contact one of the coordinators with your name and tell us what you would be interested in helping with.

Q. I have a special gift or message for Mr. Walken, can I send it through the Fan Club?
A. We simply do not have time or permission to filter and gather mail for Mr. Walken. It is best to send it to him on your own behalf. All mail that is sent to Mr. Walken does get received and read. Responses are extremely rare.

Q. Can the Fan Club check to see if Mr. Walken received something I sent?
A. Again, this is a request that would simply be impossible. Mr. Walken receives fan mail daily and to confirm the receipt of a particular letter or parcel would be extremely difficult. If you sent it to the right address, you can be assured that it was received.

Q. Who can join the Fan Club?
A. Absolutely anyone with a valid email address. Premium Members must be at least 13 years of age or have a parent's permission to join.

Q. Are there any fees for membership?
A. We have two levels of membership. Our basic membership is free and our Premium Membership is $10 US per year. PLEASE NOTE: The premium membership is on indefinite hold.

Q. What are the benefits of membership?
A. Only our members receive our online newsletter. For Premium Members, they receive several additional benefits which are outlined on our About The Club page. View benefits

Q. Can I cancel my membership anytime?
A. Yes, you are not obligated to remain in the Fan Club. You may automatically cancel your membership online from the cancel page. However, if you are a Premium member, we do not offer refunds for any part of your annual dues. We consider the amount that you pay upfront to be a donation to the club and therefore nonrefundable.

Q. I would like to upgrade to a Premium Membership, how do I do that?
A. Follow the steps outlined in the registration process. If, for some reason you begin to receive two newsletters, you must unsubscribe to the Basic mailing list through Topica.

Q. I have trouble logging in to the Message Boards, can you help me?
First, make sure you are using Internet Explorer. Many people have had trouble with Netscape on boards such as this. Try disabling your "cookies" in your browser and be sure that you are using your password correctly. The passwords are case sensitive, so if you originally entered your password as "Sparky347" and you try to enter it as "sparky374" it will not work. If you have other problems, you may email the board's administrator.

Q. How do I get Christopher Walken's autograph?
A. If you are a collector of autographs, a good source to find autographed
photos is ebay.com. Mr. Walken does not regularly answer fan mail, nor does his publicist respond to requests for autographs. Most people have received his autograph by meeting him in person. You can send fan mail to Christopher at the following address; Christopher Walken c/o Toni Howard- ICM, 8942 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills CA 90211 USA but so far, no one has received an autograph via mail.

Q. Can I contact Christopher Walken via email or does he have a personal website?
A. Mr. Walken does not use a computer at all as far as we know. He has said in interviews that he does not know how to turn one on. There are some people on the internet who will claim to be Mr. Walken, but the real Mr. Walken has yet to set foot in cyberworld.

Q. How can I meet Christopher Walken?
A. Not everyone has this opportunity, unfortunately. If you are lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, you may very well get your chance. The Fan Club will hold future events and always invite Mr. Walken, however, there is no guarantee he will attend. The best chance may be to attend a play he is doing or go to a Film Festival that he is attending and wait along with the other fans after the performance. We strongly discourage fans from breaking any laws or invading Mr. Walken's privacy. He's a person too!

Q. I saw a music video with Christopher Walken, what is that and how can I get a copy?
A. The video you probably saw was "Weapon Of Choice" by Fat Boy Slim. You can view it online by going to http://www.astralwerks.com/fbs/woc This is not yet available for purchase in video format, but many fans have copies and would be willing to trade with you. Visit a message board listed on this site if you are interested in trading.

Q. Where can I get hard-to-find Walken videos?
A. Some of Mr. Walken's videos have been out of print or are not in retail circulation, however, a good source for these types of videos is either by trading with other fans via our message board or on auction sites such as http://www.ebay.com
